3DEM can create three-dimensional terrain scenes and flyby animations from a wide variety of freely available data sources, including USGS digital elevation model (DEM) files, NASA Mars digital topographic map (DTM) files, as well as internally generated Mandelbrot and Julia fractals. 3DEM will render 16- or 24-bit color 3D projections, red/blue projections requiring red/blue 3D glasses for viewing, or color 3D projections requiring liquid crystal (LCD) electronic shutter glasses for viewing. Completed scenes can be saved in various formats, including JPEG, TGA, BMP, MPG, and WRL. 3DEM utilizes the SGI/Microsoft OpenGL libraries for high-speed 3D rendering. This new update features many enhancements and improvements.
