riveSpeed (DRSP) tests the read/write speed of any drive. It works with any write-enabled drive, such as a hard disk or ZIP drive, by performing a series of DOS I/O operations. Drive Speed uses the most common sequential write and read operations performed via DOS functions 3fH and 40H. The results are displayed in kilobytes per second and MegaBytes per minute. It also tests file access speed and presents the results in operations per second. There are several test parameters that can be adjusted, and the results can be logged to a text file.
